Vincenzo Palleschi was born in Rome on October, 15th, 1960. He graduated in Physics with distinction on June, 15th 1984 at Pisa University. Since September, 1st 1988 he is working as a researcher at the Italian National Research Council. At present time he is Senior Researcher at the Institute of Chemistry of Organometallic Compounds, at the CNR Research Area in Pisa, where he is responsible of the activities of the Applied Laser Spectroscopy Laboratory. He is also Professor of Archaeometry for the Curriculum of Sciences of Cultural Heritage at the University of Pisa. He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed papers in the field of laser spectroscopy (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, micro-Raman Spectroscopy, Laser-Induced Incandescence, ecc.) and its applications to Cultural Heritage conservation and study. He was the Chairman of the First LIBS International Conference (Pisa, 2000) and co-edited the book “Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy”, published by Cambridge University Press in 2006
