Netta Krumperman started her professional education in 1980, in Jewelry Design at Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy, Amsterdam. Exploring many materials and techniques, she developed a fascination for material degradation. After graduating in 1986, she trained as a textile conservator at Opleiding Restauratoren in Amsterdam, graduating in 1992. Between 1993 and 1997 she worked as a conservator at Dutch Leather and Shoe Museum, and the National Museum of Ethnology. Initially combined with freelance conservation work, for private and institutional clients, later followed by 10 years of freelance conservation practice. Since 2006, and current, Krumperman is coordinating con- servator for the department of applied arts and design, at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
