Jake Kaner is Professor in Furniture at the National School of Furniture, High Wycombe, UK where he leads the Furniture Research Group (FRG), which has developed from furniture research that has been active for many years. Furniture submissions have been awarded funding in RAE 1996, 2001, 2008. In 1996 furniture was flagged as a special area of interest, whilst in 2001 was awarded capability funding to further develop research activities. In 2008 was awarded funding for outputs of national, international and world-class levels. Kaner’s interests in furniture sit within a number of disciplines including, design, digital archives, heritage and conservation of twentieth century furniture.
