Austin Nevin is researcher at Institute of Nanotechnology and Photonics – Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (IFN-CNR) in Milan. He has a PhD from the Courtauld Institute of Art, where he also obtained an MA in the Conservation of Paintings, having graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. His main interest is the analysis of paintings and painting materials using non-invasive spectroscopic techniques and has recently contributed to work on the fluorescence of a watercolour by Vincent Van Gogh. He is the coordinator of the ICOM-CC Scientific Research Working Group.
