Anke Nellesen, born in 1973, studied chemistry at the Rheinisch-Westfälisch Technische Hochschule RWTH, Aachen University. She holds a PhD in organic chemistry and works as a scientific co-worker at Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT in Oberhausen since 2006. She is in charge of the project OSIRIS, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, in which self-healing elastomers are developed and analysed. Since 2011 she is professor at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences for “Sustainability and Technology”. The research of Anke Nellesen focusses on self-healing polymers and sustainable materials.
